PRINCE GEORGE– May 4th is a special day for the Prince George Spruce Kings organization. As that date marks the anniversary the Prince George Spruce Kings won the Doyle Cup in 2019.

It was a dominant season for the Spruce Kings who finished with a record of 39-13-6 and 2nd in points in the BCHL with 84. Going into the post-season confidence was at an all-time high

And that confidence showed as the Spruce Kings were on another level of dominance in the playoffs losing only once in the 1st round and then sweeping their opponents the rest of the way including the Fred Page Cup final against the Vernon Vipers.

After clinching the Fred Page Cup the Spruce Kings were matchup up with the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL for a 7-game series with the winner taking home the Prized Doyle Cup. After a hard-fought 6 games, the Spruce Kings were crowned Fred Page Cup Champions, in large part to their home crowd where they didn’t lose a single game the entire post-season.

For players like Nick Poisson and Dustin Manz, it’s a memory that’s etched in the mind for life as we remember one of the most dominant Spruce Kings teams in recent history.
