Today is McHappy Day

PRINCE GEORGE — Today is the 29th annual McHappy Day for McDonald’s and in Prince George, money is being raised for the Ronald McDonald House and for the Child Development Centre of Prince George and District. In 2022, many families from Prince George and Northern BC have benefitted from the Ronald McDonald House Charity.

If you head into a McDonald’s on McHappy Day and purchase a Big Mac Meal, the proceeds from your purchase will go directly to both charities.

“We’re donating 10% of basically every the cost of every menu item to both charities. So basically, all the daily sales and 10% of that will go right to the charities.” – Eric Simmons, Operations Manager, McDonald’s

Today, 1 in 4 Canadians has either stayed at Ronald McDonald House or know someone who has, and annually the charity helps to keep more than 26,000 families from over 3400 Canadian communities close to their sick child and the care they need. The McHappy fundraiser at the end of the day is all about community.

In 2022, 31 families stayed from Prince George at the Ronald McDonald House and 163 families stayed from other Northern communities including Vanderhoof and Fort Nelson.
