PGSS E-Sports competes on National stage in PlayVS Cup

PRINCE GEORGE– Many students at PGSS hard at work as they prep for one of the biggest E-Sports tournaments of their lives.

Scheduled to face teams all around North America in Super Smash Bros Brawl. With the first battle against a team all the way from Dallas. A process that seems a lot more complicated than one would think. Practicing moves and watching films on their upcoming opponent.

It’s an event the group is looking forward to, as it’s one of the first tournaments where stakes are actually on the line and the competition is expanded outside of BC.

For Coach and teacher Mathew Murray, he’s proud of the growth his team has shown and loves to see E-Sports slowly picking up traction not only worldwide but locally as well.

Unfortunately for the team, they were knocked out of the tournament Monday. But the loss has given them motivation for next year to get better and continue to strive to be the best on the E-Sports level.
