Mental Health Funding Announcement for Province
May 22, 2023 | 7:20 AM
The B-C division of the Canadian Mental Health Association has received a nearly five-million-dollar government grant to help people with mental health and addiction challenges find jobs while in treatment facilities.
The three-year pilot program, which started this spring, provides enhanced employment services, including pre-employment skills, job search and other supports for people at five treatment centers.
The government says it will help guide improvements in provincial policy and programming for people with complex-care needs.
The program is being offered in Nanaimo, Vernon, Kamloops, Penticton and Prince Rupert.
