McLeod Lake Indian Band in pursuit of $5B hydrogen project
ckpgMCLEOD LAKE — The McLeod Lake Indian Band is exploring the development of one of Canada’s largest hydrogen projects.
It would be hosted at the Tse’khene Energy Transition Hub, 80 kilometres north of Prince George on MLIB’s Kerry Lake East Indian Reserve. Chief Harley Chingee says the $5 billion dollar plus project fits into BC’s clean energy agenda and notes he’s already discussed the project with Premier David Eby and Energy Minister Josie Osborne.
He also says talks with BC Hydro are ongoing as are discussions with interested investors, customers and additional partners.
“We are very excited about this project’s potential and by Mitsubishi Power’s intent to partner with us,” says Chief Harley Chingee.
