Former Salted Cracker employee shares her story

PRINCE GEORGE – A recent court notice has forced bailiffs to lock the doors and seize the assets of a popular local chain lunch spot. The closure has had a ripple effect on some employees.

For the past week, flyers have been hanging on the front doors at all four locations of The Salted Cracker restaurant. One former employee had a chance to work at all the locations where they specialized in comfort foods. Over the years, the restaurant grew to four locations around the city.

“It was very busy. Like the Skip The dishes would be dinging off while we were already packed in the restaurant. And once in a while we would have to put a pause on the Skip the Dishes, in order to focus on the customers inside the restaurant.”

Morgan felt things were not going well when a pay period was missed, and the restaurant had difficulty finding staff.

CKPG reached out to the owner of the Salted Cracker and received no response. It’s estimated that around a dozen people lost their jobs with the closures.
