Public alert scheduled for June 12
PRINCE GEORGE — Don’t be surprised if you receive an emergency text at 9 a.m. on June 12.
The City of Prince George says that’s when a public alerting system used by the City and the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will be tested.
Only those who have subscribed to the system will receive a test message. You can sign up for free on their websites.
The purpose of the alert system is to inform residents when emergencies like severe weather, floods or wildfires happen.
