Youth construction program to launch in August

PRINCE GEORGE — A new ground-breaking youth construction program aimed at providing hands-on experience in the construction industry has been announced.

The Northern Regional Construction Association (NRCA) has announced the The BUILT program or Building Up Inclusive Leaders in Trade. The program will span two weeks in August, starting on August 14 an concluding on August 25. BUILT is designed to introduce young individuals to the world of construction while emphasizing opportunities in the field.

The program aims to bridge the gap between education and real-world experience by offering youth the opportunity to build a shed under the guidance of skilled professionals. Participants will learn essential topics such as project planning, blueprint readings, foundation construction, framing techniques, roofing and finishing work.

The BUILT program also has the chance for participants to connect with industry professionals, potential mentors, and further education resources.
