PRINCE GEORGE- It was an emotional Saturday at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club.

The 14th Dillon Adey Memorial Cup Golf Tournament was held with more than 140 golfers in attendance. The tournament is a fundraiser to remember the legacy of Dillon Adey, who passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident in 2009.

Dillon Adey was a business student at CNC at the time of his accident, which is why all the funds from the tournament are given back to CNC. The money funds bursaries, scholarships and equipment for students.

14 years later the impacts from the tournament are being felt throughout the community.

“Of people, I’ve hired in my business, two of them were recipients, and we didn’t find out until after we hired them,” said Dave Mothus, a family friend.

Perry Adey, Dillon’s Father, spoke about the support the tournament has received in the last 14 years.

” It’s unbelievable, thanks for supporting us, thanks for supporting the family and friends,” said Adey.

While the numbers aren’t final yet Adey says the total funds raised will be anywhere between 30-35 thousand dollars for CNC.
