PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George has always been a well-represented town in athletics over a variety of different sports. Now more athletes will be representing not only PG but also their nation, at the 2023 North American Indigenous Games.

We start in Lacrosse where Nick Krawczyk will be playing for Indigenous Team BC. Krawczyk made Team BC during the last Indigenous Games however they were cancelled due to COVID-19. This time around he’s looking to make the most of the opportunity after making the team once again.

Two more athletes representing the community are wrestlers Hunter McCarthy and Jacob Littler. With both looking to make an impact at the games.

For Littler he was ecstatic when he found out he made Team BC for wrestling. It will be the highest level he’ll wrestle at so far in his life and it’s special knowing he will be representing his first nation.

For Mcartheyhe’s excited to travel across the country to Eastern Canada and when he arrives he has only one goal in mind, and that’s to bring home gold.

They’re not the only athletes from Northern BC Heading to the games but you can catch all the action July 15th-23rd
