Police seek witnesses to a plane crash

PRINCE GEORGE – Police are looking to speak with additional witnesses after a small plane crash killed one man near Simpson Lake on June 25th Sunday at 5:41 p.m.
The Chetwynd RCMP received a report of a plane crash at Simpson Lake in the Mount Lemoray area. Police attended the crash site and confirmed that the pilot and sole occupant of the small aircraft had died in the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and police are seeking witnesses to the crash or any of its flights before the crash.
The aircraft was a small, grey, two-seated Savannah rotax ultralight. Police say there are indications that the pilot may have been attempting to make a landing before the crash, either at Simson Lake or possibly Heart Lake.
