Evacuation Alert issued for north side of Burns Lake

PRINCE GEORGE — The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has issued an Evacuation Alert for all properties and lands located on the north side of Burns Lake, accessed off Highway 16 between the west end of Tintagel Road, and the Augier Main FSR, extending north to include the Augier Co-Op FSR.
Residents are advised to prepare and be ready for a possible evacuation at any time now.
“Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation, however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions,” The district said in a news release.
Evacuation routes will be specified and a reception centre will be opened in the event of an evacuation order.
