Powers Creek wildfire near Smithers downgraded to evacuation alert

SMITHERS — Some good news out of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako.

This as the lightning-caused Powers Creek wildfire has been downgraded from an evacuation order to an alert.

The Powers Creek wildfire was discovered Friday July 7 just after 6 p.m. and is 34 hectares in size.
