The Copper Project 2023 sets fundraising record
PRINCE GEORGE — The 2023 Copper Project saw a new record this year with the sale of a home located in the Aberdeen Glen Subdivision. Over the past four years, the Copper Project has contributed over $310,000 to a variety of vital pieces of medical equipment at UHNBC, and this year topped previous records by donating over $140,000 to Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
“We are so very grateful to Jeff and Brent at CopperFalls Custom Homes, and the incredible group of contractors and suppliers for their generosity and dedication to improving healthcare in the North” said Aimee Cassie, CEO, Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. “This project has had a significant impact and has truly made a difference for patients here at home. It is truly humbling to see a collaboration of this size come together, and the benefit will be felt right here at home by our friends and families.”
“It is once again closure to what we all wanted; to build a first class home, engage trades and suppliers of goods and services, and give back to healthcare here at home. With over 40 contributing companies who support this project- all with the same goal to ensure that these funds make a difference.” said Jeff Stewart, co-owner of Copper Falls Custom Homes. “Working with the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, we know that these funds will have impact that is needed.”
At a private reception Thursday evening at Trench Brewing & Distilling a donation of $140,000 was presented, making this years’ donation the biggest yet. The funds will be used to support a variety of areas including the installation of a Tovertafel System in the Short term Stay Unit at UHNBC, Infusions Pumps for the littlest patients at UHNBC, and the remainder will be put towards the Regional Cardiac Strategy.
