PG Kennel Club hosts Dog Show

PRINCE GEORGE – The Agriplex will be leaping and strutting with some different four-legged critters than it typically does. This weekend, it is home to the first dog show in three years.
“This is the Prince George Kennel Club has put on a show that is through the Canadian Kennel Club. So it’s an approved show,” explains Dawn Trusty, Vice President of the Club. “So some of the top dogs from around the country have come to participate to try to win that Best in Show as well. Many people here come just to have a lot of fun. There are handlers, there are breeders, there are owners and just people who just love their dogs. And, you know, that’s the most important part of it all.’
“So they have the divisions, they compete against one another and move on up until they take breed. What comes next after that is that there are many other breeds that are working on taking their best in breed within their group. So once they have achieved that, then they come in and they do a group win. If you win that, that allows you to go on to Best in Show.”
