PRINCE GEORGE – Tourism Prince George wants to hear from you!

It is conducting a survey over the next two weeks, to gauge where the public believes the best location is for a Visitor Information Centre.

Currently located in the VIA building on First Avenue, the possibility of a relocation has been on the Council agenda for sometime, with the City contributing $327,000 per year.

As was noted, travellers in this day age ‘people are not to go out of there way to get to a VIC.’

A third party consultant was brought to look at options.

It was noted there were safety concerns at the current location as well the lack of visitors, missing Highway 97 travellers.

Two locations were suggested: Pine Centre Mall and the Conference and Civic Centre rotunda.

It’s expected the Board for Tourism Prince George May make a decision by its September meeting.
