SafetyDriven takes the lead in improving trucking safety: Touring the province to reach essential workers

Jul 28, 2023 | 3:35 PM

PRINCE GEORGE – Trucking is integral to the country’s economy. Drivers are responsible for transporting a large percentage of the provincial freight. A relatively new organization is touring the province dedicated to improving commercial truck drivers’ safety.

Early this week, a team from Safety Driven set up a booth at a way local weigh scale on the Hart highway to reach out to these essential workers.

As drivers roll into the scales, the SafetyDriven team takes that opportunity to talk safety.

” We are trying to get some safety awareness and safety messages out to the trucking community. We’ve noticed, an increasing need for health and safety for a lot of the drivers out in the industry. So being a nonprofit organization, we’re we’re given permission from WorkSafe to work with a lot of the truck drivers in the industry and really try to bring awareness to what we do and safety”

Commercial truck drivers are constantly fulfilling our everyday needs with the goods they transport. Giving them room on the road to allow them to do their job safely is essential.

Until the end of the year, SafetyDriven is celebrating the trucking industry by showcasing drivers and companies who demonstrate safe practices.
