Temporary gap in physician coverage forces closure in Emergency Department in Fort St. James

FORT ST. JAMES – Emergency Department services at Stuart Lake Hospital were interrupted for 24 hours due to a gap in physician coverage.

According to a news release, the Emergency Department was closed yesterday, August 5, at 8 a.m. and resumed services this morning. People in the Fort St. James area were advised to call 9-1-1 or the NH Virtual Clinic for medical assistance.

This comes after Emergency Services at St. John Hospital were also interrupted for the same reason only a few weeks ago.
