PG Animal Rescue Society receives $15,000 donation for hay from John Brink & Selen Alpay
PRINCE GEORGE – Persistent drought conditions across BC have hit farmers and ranchers hard this season, with the Province facing a major feed shortage across the board.
Here in Prince George, in a region where agriculture and animal husbandry are still fledgling industries, the consequences of this year’s dry spell have been dire on local herds, like the 20+ horses, goats, and llamas at the Prince George Animal Rescue Society.
Owner/Operator Nicola Redpath’s recent call for help was answered by a pair of well known Prince George philanthropists: John Brink, and Selen Alpay. Both of whom, were deeply moved upon seeing the Society’s hay shed sitting empty with another winter fast approaching. Both men picked up the tab to cover the hay, each donating $7500 to the PG Animal Rescue Society, for a grand total of $15,000 to top off their silos.
