One call away: United Way Northern BC and 211 Network help to ease life’s challenges

PRINCE GEORGE – At times, life can have its struggles. That’s why United Way of Northern BC has joined a network that helps connects people to helpful and vital resources in their community that can assist them through hard times.

The 211 network comprises various agencies collaborating to simplify accessing resources and aid individuals. When individuals dial 211, they are directed to or linked with local agencies capable of offering assistance.

” This service is important in that it bridges that gap, and that takes the thought away from where someone can say, I’m really struggling with finding a job, and I really don’t know why I need some support. “

The 211 service offers information and recommendations for various community, governmental, and social services designed to address fundamental needs, from food and housing to legal support.

You don’t have to get into the details, but be aware that the service is available because then when someone in your life, your family or friends or yourself at some time in life needs some support regardless of what that looks like, you know, it’s available, and you can seek some assistance.”

211 is free, confidential, and available in over 240 languages and dialects, or individuals can Text 2- 1-1 anytime or search the online directory.
