Raft rescue at confluence of Nechako and Fraser rivers

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue rescued seven members of a float party at the confluence of the Nechako and Fraser rivers Wednesday afternoon.
The City of Prince George says the Swiftwater rescue occurred at 2:30 p.m.
“On arrival seven members of a float party were found stranded on three separate islands within the rivers,” reads a city news release.
“Prince George Fire Rescue Service (PGFRS) deployed their Rapid Deployment Craft as well as the river boat to effectively retrieve the stranded floaters and bring them back to shore.”
