PRINCE GEORGE – Lots of hockey action back in play this weekend in Prince George, with a major one being the Spruce Kings. Training camp is setting players up for the season ahead, but there are a lot more benefits to it than just getting back into shape. As a new acquisition, Markus Yim says, it’s good bonding.

“The team bonding you get from those tough, tough moments there and fitness testing, you come together as a group pretty quick and bond through tough times like that. And, there’s been so much teaching here as well in the first couple of days, so [I’m] excited for what’s ahead.”

– Markus Yim, 2nd year defender

Last season finished in a tough playoff loss against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, but the Spruce Kings are looking to bounce back from that as they head to Salmon Arm for their first regular season game on September 23.

“We’re just excited to get a chance to play them again and kind of show them we’re not going to be the same team [as] last year like we are going to be harder and I’m excited about it.”

– Luca Primerano, 2nd year forward
