McBride residents invited to drop off scrap tires at upcoming recycling round up event
VICTORIA – Tire Stewardship BC (TSBC), an environmental not-for-profit group dedicated to the collection and recycling of scrap tires in British Columbia, announced today (Wednesday) that they will be participating in this years Recycling Round Up in McBride. The event will take place on Saturday, September 23 between 10 am – 2 pm at Steve Kolida Village Park and Playground parking lot (Main Street & 2nd Avenue) in McBride, BC.
“TSBC is excited to once again be partnering in the Recycling Round Up event in McBride. On September 23, McBride residents can easily and conveniently drop off their scrap tires at Steve Kolida Village Park and Playground parking lot,” said Rosemary Sutton, Executive Director, Tire Stewardship BC. “Many new, safe and durable products can be made from scrap tire rubber that has been recycled such as playground surfaces, water parks, and animal mats.” said Sutton.
B.C.’s scrap tire program has been recycling tires for over 30 years, and it is the oldest recycling program in Canada. Since the scrap tire recycling program was first established in BC in 1991, over 100 million tires have been recycled in the province.
