Cougars Funk named WHL player of the Week

PRINCE GEORGE– The Western Hockey League announced today that Prince George Cougars forward Zac Funk has been named Tempo WHL Player of the Week for the week ending September 24, 2023.

Funk led all WHL skaters with seven points (3G-4A) this past week, recording a hat-trick and five-point effort as part of his two appearances with Prince George to begin the 2023-24 WHL Regular Season.

The product of Coldstream, B.C. began his week Friday, September 22 with five points (3G-2A), including his first career WHL hat-trick, as the Cougars blanked the Tri-City Americans 9-0 to kick off a two-game home series.

Funk’s first goal stood up as the game-winner, while he also finished the evening with six shots on goal, a +5 rating, and First Star honours.
