Save-On-Foods Pine Centre makes “Respectful Acknowledgment” pledge
PRINCE GEORGE— Wednesday (Sept. 27) night, Lheidli T’enneh First Nation Chief Dolleen Logan accepted the ‘Respectful Acknowledgement’ pledge from the new Save-On-Foods store at the Pine Centre Mall. The pledge was given by Save-On-Foods Pine Centre Store Manager Regan Bader during their grand opening wednesday. Chief Logan presented a plaque which is on display in the new store and is the first private business in the territory to receive one.
The new Save-On-Foods Pine Centre Store’s pledge to respectfully acknowledge our unceded ancestral lands celebrates another positive step forward on the Road to Reconciliation. The fact that this pledge comes from one of the best-known grocery store chains in BC and is the first ‘Respectful Acknowledgement’ pledge from a private-sector firm in our territory is huge. I want to thank Store Manager Regan Bader for taking this bold step and including our nation in the opening of this fabulous new store. The Respectful Acknowledgement plaque on display in the store is a sign that this store welcomes our members and all Indigenous shoppers.

Save-On-Foods Pine Centre store manager Regan Bader says he is honoured to display the Repectful Acknowledgement plaque and sees it as an important step towards truth and reconciliation with the Lheidli Tenneh First Nations community.
