Cougars experience a setback as the winning streak ends
PRINCE GEORGE — The Wenatchee Wild put a stop to the Prince George Cougars’ five-game winning streak with a 6-3 victory at the CN Centre yesterday (Oct 7).
Ondrej Becher (2) and Carlin Dezainde scored for the Cougars. Ty Young made 25 saves on 30 Wenatchee shots. The Cougars finished the first period ahead 2-1. During the second period of the game, the Wild team managed to even the score at 2:10 with a goal from Steven Arp.
Wenatchee’s Easton Armstrong then took the lead with a goal at 8:17, making the score 3-2. However, Prince George quickly responded with Ondrej Becher’s second goal at 11:29, tying the game at three. In the final period, Evan Friesen secured the Wild’s victory with an empty netter at 19:52, making the final score 6-3.
The Cougars are scheduled to face the Swift Current Broncos at the CN Centre in Prince George, BC on October 11 at 7 p.m.
