Suspect in custody after violent assault involving a baseball bat
PRINCE GEORGE — One person is in hospital with serious injuries after they were assaulted with a baseball bat.
Prince George RCMP say the assault occurred just after 2 p.m. on Friday (Oct.27) in front of a business on the 1200-block of 2nd Avenue.
Police say the suspect was arrested within 15 minutes of being tipped off by the public.
“Police officers are extending their thanks to the members of the public who reported the assault and continued to report the movements of the suspect as he left the area, which assisted police in locating him so quickly. The suspect is known to police and at the time of his arrest was bound by a probation order stemming from a similar offense in 2022,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
