Timberwolves women’s basketball team defeated by Cascades in rematch

PRINCE GEORGE – The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball team was beaten 93-60 by the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) Cascades in yesterday’s (Nov. 4) rematch at the Northern Sport Centre in Prince George.

Early on, Amrit Manak and Viktoriia Filatova led the offense for the Timberwolves, tallying 11 points. However, by the end of the first quarter, the Cascades took the lead 23-16.

By halftime, the Cascades powered their way to a 42-28 lead over the Timberwolves, with Canada West All-Star, Maddy Gobeil, scoring 12 points.

Gobeil led all scorers with a total of 21 points and five steals, followed by Deanna Tuchscherer who added 14 points and seven rebounds.
