Prince George represented well at 2023 Canadian Long Track Championships
PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George is known for being cold. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. It means we produce great winter athletes. Hockey players like Nico Myatovic, snowboarders like Meryeta O’Dine, and speed skaters like Carolina Hiller and Eric Orlowsky.
Recently Orlowsky and Hiller competed at the 2023 Canadian Long Track Championships representing B.C. Both speed skaters put in a great effort with Hiller finishing 1st and winning gold in the 500-metre event and bronze in the 1000-metre event.
For Orlowsky, he competed in the 5000-metre event and the Mass start. Although the speed skater didn’t win any hardware he says it’s the experience of competing with the best in all of Canada that pushes him to do even better.
