PRINCE GEORGE — It’s been a whirlwind week for Prince George’s Cameron Schmidt. Scoring the Golden Goal for Team Canada on November 11th and being crowned champion of the 2023 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge over the USA.

The former Cariboo Cougar and Vancouver Giants first-round pick was named to the Canada White team back in October and didn’t disappoint leading his team in goals with five throughout the tournament. A big step in his career playing on the National level.

Now it’s a quick turnaround for the 16-year-old forward as he returns to the Vancouver Giants. Their next opponent, Schmidt’s hometown team, the Prince George Cougars. As he makes his first appearance at the CN Centre wearing a Vancouver Giants jersey. In what will no doubt be a special night for him, friends and family.

The Cougars take on the Giants on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Looking to extend their lead in the BC Division.
