Salvation Army sets big goal for annual kettle campaign
PRINCE GEORGE – The annual Salvation Army kettle campaign kicked off today, and with many community members struggling with inflation and continually rising costs of living, it set a big goal of $180 000 to support those who need its services.
“We know Prince George will always help us and be behind us and is a great community, and every dollar can help. We can take those dollars, and because of our partnerships and such, we can make those dollars go two or three times more than what an average person can because of the deals that we can get,” the Salvation Army’s Community Ministries Director Roy Law said.
The campaign runs until Christmas day, and the money raised will primarily support the Salvation Army’s food bank services, although it will also support some of its other services too.
Knowing that money is tight for everyone, Law says there are other ways you can help out even if you can’t offer a financial donation.
