Hunter reports airplane crash in Columbia Valley amid engine trouble: Pilot dies.

PRINCE GEORGE – RCMP received a report from a person hunting in the Columbia Valley who witnessed a small airplane crash on Friday, November 24th.

According to police, the hunter had observed the plane having engine trouble and then going down in the wooded area.

The Columbia Valley RCMP received the report of a small plane crash north of Brisco on the Bugaboo side of the valley at 4 pm.

On the morning of November 25th, the RCMP and Search and Rescue attended the crash site and discovered the pilot, who was the only occupant, did not survive the impact.

Transport Canada was notified of the accident and is gathering information and assessing the situation; however, they do not intend to deploy investigators to the site.
