United Way Tree of Lights returns

PRINCE GEORGE—The fifth annual United Way Tree of lights is here, with the funds going to support children and youth programming in Prince George.

Purchase a bulb or get your friends together to donate an entire string of lights to light up the Christmas Tree. The goal this year is $50,000 with all proceeds staying in the community and help support the next generation of Prince George residents.

Get up close and personal with the tree that is now inside the lobby of the Coast Prince George Hotel by APA. In addition, United Way will host a Tree of Lights Kick-Off & Book Drive event this Saturday, December 9, from 11am-3pm. Drop of a new or gently used book for children and youth and it will make it’s way to a children in need through United Way partners.

This free family event will feature free professional Santa photos with Giles Palmer Photography, goodie bags for the first 100 children, treats provide by the Coast, a colouring contest for Children and youth, live book reading by Santa at 2 p.m., and ornament decorating.
