PRINCE GEORGE—The Campus FM University Radio(CFUR) has teamed up CFIS and the Prince George Nechako Employment Training Association to provide an Indigenous Youth Radio Broadcast Training Program in Prince George. The 25-weeks hand-on training will provide youth the skill they need to begin working within radio and broadcasting.

The training has benn developed, and will be provided, by both CFUR and CFIS where the six students will learn about the overall daily role of Radio Broadcasting

“The CFUR Team is honoured to be part of this amazing program! We look forward to sharing our skills to the youth involved in this first ever program. It is important to us that we share our knowledge and provide opportunities to our community and surrounding communities to enter into the broadcasting space.” CFUR Radio’s Executive Director, Genevieve Tucker.

The program will wrap in mid April with a celebration of completion ceremony with the community invited to join in on their success.
