PRINCE GEORGE — Shas Ti Kelly Road Secondary was briefly placed on a hold and secure at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

School District 57 says it was due to a threat outside the school with RCMP attributing it to a fight at the end of Turner Road.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper says one person was arrested and the hold and secure was lifted just after 3 p.m.

A hold and secure occurs when there’s a threat in the general vicinity of a school, but not on, or very close to school property. RCMP say they requested the hold and secure “out of an abundance of caution.”

“If anyone in the area has video surveillance or dash camera footage that shows the movements of the suspect in this investigation, you can contact a police officer by calling the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300,” says Cooper.

“The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 50 years old, wearing jeans and a black jacket. Please quote file number 2023-43472.”
