Parascak earns Rookie of the Month for December

PRINCE GEORGE—The Prince George Cougar Terik Parascak has been named December’s WHL Rookie of the Month for the second time this season. Parascak previously earned the title for September/October.

The 5’11”, 179 pound product of Lethbridge, Alberta recorded four goals and twelve assists and a plus-13 rating in 11 games during the month of December. Parascak leads the WHL’s rookie scoring race by 18 points with 54 points (26G-28A) across 36 games. His 26 goals are tied for fifth among all WHL skaters and lead all WHL rookies.

On December 18, Parascak has been named Kal Tire WHL Rookie of the week after posting seven points (3G-4A) in three games.

On December 19, Parascak was named to the roster for the 2024 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, Scheduled for Wednesday, January 25 in Moncton N.B. He was given a ‘B’ rating by NHL Central Scouting in its preliminary Players to Watch List for the 2024 NHL Draft.

Selected by the Cougars in the fourth round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, Parascak made his WHL debut during the 2022-23 season, skating in four games.

Heading into January, the Prince George Cougars rank first in the WHL’s Western Conference with a record of 26-10-0-0. With Parascak’s efforts, the Cougars are the second-highest scoring team in the WHL with 163 goals-for in 36 games (4.53 goals per game).

The Cats will take to the ice tonight (6 p.m.) when they visit the Wenatchee Wild.
