Caledonia Nordic Ski Club signed on to be Presenting Sponsor at the World Para Nordic Games

The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club has sign on to be the Presenting Sponsor while contributing $150,000 towards capital infrastructure improvements and will provide invaluable volunteer support and the use of its top-tier facilities.

“The involvement of Caledonia Nordic Ski Club as the Presenting Sponsor is a game-changer,” says Kevin Pettersen, Chair of the Local Organizing Committee, praising the partnership. “Their remarkable contribution and volunteer support are pivotal in transforming these championships into a global showcase. This partnership not only elevates our club on the international stage but also brings lasting legacies to our community and region, such as enhanced snowmaking and accessibility improvements.”

The sponsorship from the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is complemented by contributions from other Operational and Capital Funding Partners, including TheCity of Prince George, The Province of British Columbia, The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, Northern Development, Tourism Prince George, FIS and IBU.

“Our club has always been at the forefront of promoting Nordic sports,” explains Lanita Horning, President of the Board for Caledonia Nordic Ski Club. “Hosting the 2024 World Championships and stepping up as the Presenting Sponsor is a proud moment for us. It reflects our commitment to offering a world- class facility and inclusive sporting environment.”

Dimitrije Lazarovski, International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Directorfor Development Programmes, commented on the significance of this sponsorship: “The commitment shown by Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is exemplary. Their support goes beyond financial contribution; it’s about enhancing the sport’s profile and creating a welcoming environment for all participants.

“This is a testament to the club’s dedication to the advancement of Nordic sports,” adds Tomi-Pekka Riihivuori, Para Biathlon Coordinator from the International Biathlon Union. “Their role as the Presenting Sponsor and host sets a high standard for international events in terms of facility preparedness and community involvement.”

The 2024 Para Biathlon World Championships and Para Nordic World Cup Finals will begin March third and run until the seventeenth. Over 120 athletes from around 20 nation will be participating in this unmissable event.The Local Organizing Committee extends an open invitation to the business community to join in sponsoring this international sporting spectacle.
