Moccasin Flats shooting leaves one gravely injured

PRINCE GEORGE—On Friday morning(Jan. 5), around 8:30 a.m. Prince George RCMP responded to reports of a gunshot on the 500-block of Ottawa Street.
“A man was located at that location suffering from a serious gunshot wound. Multiple police units, including Frontline police officers, Police Dog Services, and the Investigative Support Team, immediately flooded the area to search for possible suspects. Emergency Health Services transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of his injuries,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
RCMP Serious Crimes Unit, including the Forensic Identification Section, has taken over the investigation. The crews will be on location for a large portion of the day. RCMP are asking that people stay out of the area in order to allow the investigators to complete their work.
Officers are also asking that if anyone was in the area, between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m, who may have seen anything suspicious to contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 and quote file number 2024-445.
