Quesnel homeowner kills armed home invasion suspect

QUESNEL — Quesnel RCMP say an armed man is dead after a violent home invasion and attempted robbery.

Police say the incident occurred Friday, January 5 just after 5:30 p.m., at a home in West Quesnel.

“The homeowner reported that an armed man attempted to rob him and that there was a violent encounter leaving the intruder dead. This is an isolated incident and there does not appear to be any further risk to the public.The investigation is still ongoing”, says Sgt. Clay Kronebusch.

He says Mounties are working to confirm the details of the reported incident and the suspect’s actions leading up to the event .
