Anonymous donors make a big impact in northern healthcare through Spirit of the North
PRINCE GEORGE – Spirit of the North is the health care foundation for northern BC. The Foundation steps in when provincial funding for healthcare equipment stops. Donors give almost half of the raised money anonymously. These types of donations continue to make a big difference in healthcare in the North.
The Festival of Trees is the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation’s primary fundraiser. During this past festival, a dedicated volunteer’s family donated one million dollars in her honour. Also, an anonymous donor generously supported the launch of a Regional Mobile Ultrasound Program last year.
“ So we had a (anonymous) donor come to us. They were passionate about bringing health care to northern B.C., doing it uniquely, in a very progressive way, and looking at different programs.”
