Overall construction of Blackwater Mine project 59% complete

PRINCE GEORGE — The Blackwater Mine project, located about 160 kilometers southwest of Prince George and 112 kilometers southwest of Vanderhoof, is progressing at an impressive rate.
According to Artemis Gold Inc., as of December 31, 2023, overall construction was 59% complete and the project remains fully funded. Construction started less than two years ago, in September of 2022.
Approximately 640 hectares of land has been logged and cleared and work is advancing on site water management facilities. Artemis says that as they enter the first quarter of 2024, their short-term priorities will be focused on the construction of a transmission line and completing all essential concrete works within the process facility. Mining will be based on conventional open pit methods and open pit operations are anticipated to run for 17 years, excluding 15-18 months of pre-production mining.
