PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP have gone public in hopes of furthering along a cold case investigation.

It concerns the 2009 homicide of 44-year-old Vernon Darcy Baker. RCMP say on April 11 at 6:35 a.m. that year, Vernon attended a home on the 2300-block of Victoria Street and told residents there that he had been stabbed. He was later taken to hospital where he died.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have information about this incident to come forward and speak with police.

“Vernon’s family has never forgotten him and are still hoping to get answers as to what happened that morning,” says RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
