Feb 5, 2024 | 10:52 AM

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Cougars have announced their upcoming “Cougars Fight Cancer” game, set for Family Day on Monday, February 19th, at 3:00 pm when they welcome the Seattle Thunderbirds to the CN Centre for the first time this year.

The night will be presented by PRD Construction and will feature a Mega 50/50 Jackpot guaranteed by Wood Wheaton Supercenter, with the starting amount set at $60,000, all in support of the BC Cancer Foundation.

Additionally, the game will see the Cougars wearing distinctive jerseys, which will be auctioned off after the game to benefit the BC Cancer Foundation.

Paul Danbrook of PRD Construction expressed heartfelt sentiments regarding the initiative, stating, “Cancer has deeply touched the lives of our close friends and relatives. Sponsoring this event serves as a powerful platform to raise awareness about cancer and, hopefully, contribute to the discovery of cures, enhanced treatments, and a deeper understanding of this disease.”

The Cougars’ commitment extends beyond the game itself; they aim to honour those impacted by cancer and shed light on the vital work carried out by the Cancer Centre of Northern BC.

“In sponsoring tickets, we aim to demonstrate our unwavering support,” remarked Danbrook. “It’s about standing with our friends, relatives, and community members in their courageous battle against this formidable foe. While our efforts may not directly cure cancer, they offer solace and a sense of community to those in the fight or who have traversed its challenges. We’re here to affirm that our community stands in solidarity with them.”

Tickets for the game have been made available for purchase at Tickets North.
