Cougars trounce Thunderbirds 8-1

PRINCE GEORGE — A capacity crowd of 6,027 at CN Centre saw the Prince George Cougars easily beat the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds 8-1 Monday afternoon.

The Cougars scored two goals in the first period and another six in the second before Seattle tallied late in the third period to spoil the shutout for Cougars goalie Joshua Ravensbergen.

Forward Riley Heidt scored his 30th of the season and added a pair of helpers. He’s second in league scoring with 93 points.

Villiam Kmec had three assists and now has seven goals and 20 assists this season.
