Cougars tops in WHL’s Western Conference following victory over Thunderbirds

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-1 Tuesday night in front of 2,359 fans at CN Centre.

Zac Funk scored two goals – his league-leading 52nd and 53rd of the season, to lead the Cats to victory. He also had an assist and now has 95 points on the season, tied for tops in the WHL with Riley Heidt, who also scored one goal and had two assists.

Carline Dezainde also scored and Terik Parascak had a goal and two assists. Import Ondrej Becher added three assists.

The Cougars outshot the Thunderbirds 36-21 with Joshua Ravensbergen picking up the win in net.
