Cougars forward signs with Washington Capitals

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Cougars sniper Zac Funk has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals.

According to the Capitals, the contract will carry an average annual value of $810,000 (NHL) and $82,500 in the AHL.

The 20-year-old forward from Coldstream B.C. has had a stellar year for the Cougars, compiling 99 points with 56 goals and 43 assists in 58 games. That’s good for third overall in the WHL scoring race.

“I am very grateful and honoured for this opportunity with the Washington Capitals and am looking forward to the next chapter of my hockey career,” said Funk.
