Cougars fall to Chiefs in overtime, remain atop Western Conference
PRINCE GEORGE – Brayden Crampton scored in overtime for the Spokane Chiefs in a 5-4 victory over the hometown Prince George Cougars in WHL action on Friday (March 1) at CN Centre.
The Cougars (40-15-1-3) scored three goals in a six-minute window in the third period — the first at 5:45 and the last at 11:07 — to erase a 4-1 deficit and force the extra session.
Zac Funk tallied a pair of goals for Prince George in support of goaltender Joshua Ravensbergen, who made 19 saves in a losing effort.
Dawson Cowan stopped 34 shots between the pipes for the Chiefs, who improved to 25-28-4-1 on the campaign.
