PRINCE GEORGE — The annual spring cleanup event in Prince George will take place on Sunday, April 21 and the City of Prince George is encouraging you to participate.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day and gloves and garbage bags will be provided along with a limited number of sharps containers upon request.

You can register online by clicking here. The City says there will be six large dumpster bins located around the city for collected garbage. You can find your location on the City’s event map located by clicking here.

The City says that these bins are for Spring Clean Up and should not be used for personal, household, or construction garbage.

If the supplied bins are full or residents can’t bring bags to the landfill, call 250-613-7424 to let the City know where to pick up your collected garbage.

Garden and yard waste can be taken to the Foothills Landfill or the Quinn Street/Vanway Transfer & Recycle Stations free of charge on the day.

Do not throw away household hazardous waste, electronics, or yard and garden trimmings in City bins. These items must be discarded at:

Registered volunteers can then visit City Hall between April 15 and 19 to pick up their gear.

This program is supported by the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, Environment 360 Solutions, Cascades Recovery +, 101.3 The River and 99.3 Rewind Radio.
