Cougars’ Parascak wins WHL Rookie of the Week after incredible playoff performance
PRINCE GEORGE– The WHL announced Monday that Prince George Cougars forward Terik Parascak has been named Kal Tire WHL Rookie of the Week
The 17-year-old scored four goals in two games in the first weekend of WHL Playoffs- including a hat trick in Game One against the Spokane Chiefs.
With Game One tied 1-1 in the first period, Parascak set up shop on the edge of the Chief’s crease and hammered a rebound into the net on the powerplay to give Prince George its first lead of the night. He added a second by pouncing on a loose puck in the crease in the middle frame to extend the Cougars’ lead to 4-1 and capped off the hat trick with a slick redirection on an Ondrej Becher shot. Helping Prince George to a 6-1 victory in Game One. Parascak would also be named the first star of the game.
The following night, Prince George surged to a 6-0 lead in Game Two. Spokane would try to claw back in with a four-goal third period, but Parascak outwaited a sprawling Chiefs defender to ice the game with an empty-net goal to make it 7-4 final.
