Cougars on brink of eliminating Spokane

SPOKANE — The Prince George Cougars are one win away from punching their ticket to the second round of the WHL playoffs.

This after they beat the Spokane Chiefs 4-2 Tuesday night in Spokane before 3,606 fans at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

Zac Funk led the Cougar offence with four points, including two goals and two assists. Josh Ravensbergen picked up his third win of the playoffs, making 26 saves.

Other Prince George goals came from Borya Valis and Hudson Thornton. Ondrej Becher added two assists.The Cougars outshot the Chiefs 33-30.
